Even though tuesday night was the only night this week when I was actually home (and that was only due to corsetry class being cancelled) I'm impressed by my comittment to the Sweeny halloween costumes. I sewed all night on tuesday maximizing my one free night. Yesterday before my meeting at six I spent an hour getting more binding for the skirt ( Read more... )

We're invited to a halloween party on saturday and I've been longing for victorian Sweeny costumes since the movie so I was really psyched to have a reason to do them. The wash overskirt is done! I'm so very happy, both because I can stash it away, but also because I'm so pleased with the result! After taking the picture yesterday I sashayed around the house in my beautiful big bum for a couple of hours and couldn't bring myself to take it off until we had to leave for a party.

Last time I was working on the victorian, in July, I was rushing to have it done for the TV meet-up. I worked on it up until I left for the Beechwood event, and then a few days after that went to Aruba for 3 weeks. Yesterday I went out and bought the velvet trim after work. They only had 8,2 m of the thicker one (I needed 8 so pheew) so I got that and 2 meters of the slightly thinner one. Together with a velvet rose for the hat that came down to €44 ( Read more... )

I de-doggiefied the apartment last night and cut out the fabric for the wash overskirt in the plaid and in black cotton for flatlining. I also pinned them together for the flatlining, but have yet to sew them together. I really liked the feel of the skirt with two layers though - the unlined underskirt felt so much more flimsy in comparison ( Read more... )
